Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and an active Indiana teaching license. Special Education Licensure preferred
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience, preferably at least 1 year in Special Education
  • Possess a basic knowledge of special education laws and regulations and can follow developed procedures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of applicable Federal and State special education law
  • Maintain and submit accurate records while handling information in a private and confidential manner
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with multiple staff across preschool - 12th grade
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of adaptive and academic functioning adhering to the appropriate timelines
  • Collaborate with teacher and other school personnel on methods to enhance student's educational performance (e.g. assist with writing Individual Education Plans (IEP), conducting Functional behavior Assessments (FBA) and developing Behavior intervention Plans (BIP))
  • Complete systematic observations of students in the academic and social settings
  • Interpret and write up the results of observations and testing and send to the school psychologist in a timely manner
  • Gather educational records
  • Perform any other duties as assigned
