About The Position

Performs all diagnostic ultrasound/vascular procedures fixed and mobile according to the policy and procedures that are provided by the department. Assists the radiologist with designated diagnostic exams. Interacts with medical staff and other outside entities regarding ultrasound matters. Must be proficient in abdomen, obstetric, gynecological, small parts, vascular and color doppler scans. Assists the radiologist in guided needle biopsies, paracentisis, thoracentesis, and operating room procedures. Will be on-call during designated hours to provide ultrasound coverage. Anyone hired after 12 months of eligibility or cross training must already have at least one registry. General computer skills as needed. May transport non-narcotic medications as directed. Works positively with all customers to promote patient, employee, and physician satisfaction. Participates in performance improvement initiatives. Participations in staff/student orientation training. Requirements

  • Graduated from accredited or ARRT approved ultrasound program
  • Must be proficient in abdomen, obstetric, gynecological, small parts, vascular and color doppler scans.
  • General computer skills as needed.
  • ARDMS (American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
  • BLS (American Heart Association / Basic Life Support)
  • ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
  • Anyone hired after 12 months of eligibility or cross training must already have at least one registry.
