About The Position

Provides technical and specialized skills in the operation of ultrasound procedures on Cherokee Nation patients. Duties and responsibilities are conducted in a manner that effectively supports efficient patient services. Ensures a safe environment for patients and peers. Practices ultrasound safety using "as low as (is) reasonably achievable" (ALARA) concepts. Performs procedures as prescribed by Cherokee Nation providers. Communicates and works with radiologists, physicists, clinicians, nursing staff, and other patient care providers to ensure high-quality diagnostic procedures are performed. Provides training, education, and mentoring to students, technologists, nursing faculty, and others only within the boundaries of competence, based on documented education, training, supervised experience, state and national professional credentials, and appropriate professional experience.

Requirements

• Must have completed Diagnostic Medical Sonography program or must possess ARRT or ARDMS certification/registry in approved certification/registration.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
• Must possess Sonography Technologist licensure/registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiological Technologist (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within ninety (90) days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
• Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for childcare
