You will apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes while ensuring patient safety and comfort.

Requirements

Graduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification of program completion with a scheduled graduation date.
Candidates hired prior to graduation will work under indirect supervision by an ARRT-certified diagnostic technologist until degree verification.
Technologists cannot work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification is obtained.
ARRT Registry Eligible as a Radiologic Technologist
Must obtain Radiography Registry within 6 months of hire (effective January 1, 2025).
Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025, must obtain registry within 12 months of hire/transfer.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR Certification (AHA standards including both didactic and skills demonstration) within 30 days of hire.
If working in a New York facility, certification from ARRT or NMTCB and licensure through the New York State Department of Health is required.

Responsibilities

Accurately identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures
Review patient history, assess physician orders, and apply departmental protocols for optimal imaging results
Document patient history in the electronic record as required
Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy
Ensure proper coding, tracking, and archiving of exams in RIS and ISITE systems
Perform diagnostic radiography procedures independently using established protocols
Operate complex imaging equipment for acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data
Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate concerns
Demonstrate professionalism, teamwork, and respect in all interactions
