About The Position

UPMC Williamsport is seeking a full-time Advanced Diagnostic Technologist. You will work typically 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in addition to rotating Call, weekends, and holidays. The final candidate will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary based on individual experience, education, and certifications. Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • 2 years Diagnostic experience required for the advanced tech level.
  • Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.
  • ARRT certified in Radiography.
  • CPR or BLS Required.
  • CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs or assists Clinical Specialist in performing QA, regulatory testing, and other technical and research initiatives.
  • Performs all job responsibilities of Diagnostic Tech I.
  • Demonstrates competency of specialty equipment (O.R., Fluoro Procedures, etc.) and analyzes data promptly.
  • Performs electrocardiograms and lab draw functions if applicable.
  • Monitors quality control activities and demonstrates advanced level of knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging by providing patient care as defined by the most up to day protocols and procedures.
  • Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and is able to cover off shifts, on-call responsibilities, and perform services at satellite facilities, where applicable, while continually communicating with lead and management team.
  • Participates in standardization activities with system-level workgroups.
  • Works directly with Radiologists regarding protocol development.
  • Assist with the training of staff and student technologists.
