Diagnostic Radiology Technologist
About The Position
This is a part-time Special Weekend Option Diagnostic Radiology Technologist position located at Bloomington Hospital. The hours are 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday. The Technologist will mainly be working with ER and In-patients. Surgery experience preferred! The candidate will qualify for the Special Weekend pay incentive - Sign-on bonus & referral bonus available to eligible applicants! Requirements
- Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
- Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
- Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
- Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities
- Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery
- Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly
- Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging
- Follows radiation safety protocols
- Documents detailed patient history
- Stays current with continuing education
- Monitors patients during exam for safety
- Documents necessary information in EMR
- Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed
