This position is held accountable for performing the correct radiologic exams and producing high-quality images while supervising others.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an Associate's (2-year) certificate program, certified by the ASRT in Radiology Technology
  • Registered or eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Licensed or eligible for license by the State of Arkansas in Radiology Technology

Responsibilities

  • Operates and positions radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images of the body, following established radiologic requirements and regulations to ensure patient care and safety.
  • Prepares patients for radiologic procedures by escorting patients to x-ray rooms, providing verbal instructions, and assisting patients in positioning body parts to be radiographed
  • Explains procedures and observes patients to ensure patient care, safety, and comfort during scan.
  • Serves as a back-up for clinical team members, as needed, by controlling patient flow and triaging.
  • Maintains working order of radiologic equipment, including reporting equipment malfunctions and scheduling regular maintenance.
  • Reviews patient records and imports external images into the picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
