About The Position
JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Diagnostic Radiology • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Elk Grove Village, IL • Service Setting: Imaging Center • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: July 27, 2026 – Ongoing • Clinical Shift Schedule: Flexible shifts including days, swing, nights, and weekends (typical night shift 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) COVERAGE DATES • Ongoing coverage with flexible scheduling PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 70–80 reads per 8-hour shift • Case Mix: Diagnostic radiology including plain films, CT, MRI, and stroke protocol imaging FACILITY INFORMATION • Office Equipment Available: PACS (GE) • Specialty Backup Available: Cardiologists for cardiac ultrasound reads • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 16 weeks
Requirements
- Licenses: Active state license required or willingness to obtain
- Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology
- Experience: Diagnostic radiology experience required
- Ability to meet turnaround time metrics
- Experience with high-volume reading environments
Nice To Haves
- MRI abdominal and joint imaging (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiology reads across multiple imaging modalities
- Interpret stroke protocol imaging with rapid turnaround expectations
- Maintain efficiency standards for read volume and turnaround times
- Communicate critical findings within required timeframes
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting using PACS systems
