Requirements

  • Must be registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • 2 years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
  • Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States
  • Must have current BLS, ACLS Certification
  • Copy of diploma or transcripts required
  • Must be a US Citizen living primarily in the United States
  • In-depth understanding of radiation protection standards and safe operating procedures
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to perform and evaluate diagnostic imaging
  • Familiarity with x-ray physics, including circuitry, exposure techniques, and imaging accessories (e.g., grids, filters, collimators)
  • Ability to position patients with care and precision, even in emergency or trauma situations
  • Basic nursing skills, including vital sign monitoring, CPR, and familiarity with emergency protocols

  • Previous traveler and IHS experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex radiographic exams, including fluoroscopy and special procedures (e.g., IVP, barium swallow, cystograms, gallbladder studies)
  • Position and transfer patients, explain procedures, and select appropriate technical factors
  • Operate and maintain radiographic equipment; troubleshoot and monitor performance
  • Develop films using automatic processors; handle film processing chemicals
  • Enforce radiation safety practices, including shielding and use of monitoring badges
  • Maintain exposure technique charts and follow safety protocols
  • Assist radiologists during contrast media procedures and special positioning
  • Administer CPR and first aid as needed
  • Use sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination
  • Maintain accurate patient records and radiographic documentation
  • Provide technical support to field clinics and instruct ancillary staff
  • Participate in on-call rotation, weekends, holidays, and emergency callbacks
  • Support administrative duties, including onboarding, credentialing, and required trainings
