About The Position
The Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist performs a wide range of general diagnostic radiology procedures , including fluoroscopy, operating room imaging, and portable examinations. Technologists work under the general supervision of a Radiologist and provide imaging services to Veterans with complex medical, physical, and mental health conditions.
Requirements
- ARRT certification (Radiography) - Required
- Experience performing fluoroscopy, OR, and portable exams
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with GE imaging equipment
- Knowledge of Philips IntelliSpace PACS highly desirable
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures per established protocols
- Operate ionizing radiation equipment and maintain radiation safety
- Position patients, select technical factors, annotate images, and ensure exam completeness
- Archive images and documentation in PACS and DHCP systems
- Provide portable X-ray services throughout the medical center
- Maintain patient identification, safety, comfort, and confidentiality
- Recognize emergencies and provide initial response until relieved
