About The Position

CVP is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to join our team in providing support operations at the White River Junction VA Medical Center located at 163 Veterans Dr, White River Junction, VT 05009. You'll play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to support quality healthcare delivery for Veterans.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust government security clearance (US Citizenship is required)
  • Current certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography
  • Minimum of 2 years of Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist experience
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (renewed every 2 years)
  • Demonstrated understanding of advanced DRT applications
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Strong patient care and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
  • Physical ability to assist patients, operate equipment, and work rotating shifts
  • All candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Responsibilities

  • Perform general diagnostic radiography, fluoroscopy, portable radiography, portable fluoroscopy, and operating room imaging
  • Prepare and administer contrast materials under radiologist direction (e.g., GI studies, venograms, cystograms, arthrography)
  • Accurately operate imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic‑quality images while minimizing radiation exposure
  • Record radiation dose data for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams
  • Review, validate, and process radiology orders in CPRS/VistA
  • Register, complete, cancel, and edit imaging exams in VA systems
  • Perform imaging studies according to urgency (STAT, urgent, routine, pre‑op)
  • Ensure image quality, repeat/reject analysis, and compliance with departmental quality thresholds
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records and ensure images are properly uploaded to PACS
  • Follow infection control, sterile technique, radiation safety, and VA safety policies
  • Assist radiologists/physicians during procedures and anticipate procedural needs
  • Identify patients correctly and ensure proper image labeling and documentation
  • Monitor equipment functionality and report malfunctions
  • Adjust exam techniques based on patient condition, body habitus, and clinical need
