About The Position

Join our team as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (CT) , specializing in diagnostic imaging to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA) at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. As part of Aptive Resources, you will have the opportunity to serve our nation's Veterans by providing top-quality radiographic exams at one of the largest integrated health care systems in America. You will work a rotating 12-hour overnight shift schedule, contributing to our mission of providing exceptional care.

Requirements

  • Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an equivalent agency recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Computed Tomography (CT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved vendor.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT technologist, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in performing specialized radiographic procedures, with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and the health care team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts as detailed above.
  • All candidates will be subjected to a background/security investigation and must also pass a pre-employment physical exam.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional certifications in MRI, X-Rays, Fluoroscopy, and other modalities preferred or eligible for certification within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures such as MRI, X-rays, Fluoroscopy, CT, Echo, Cath Lab, Mammography, PET, and Electroneurodiagnostic, specializing in CT scans.
  • Conduct exams during overnight 12-hour tours, following the rotating schedule: Week #1 : Sunday 12 a.m. - 7:30 a.m., Thursday to Saturday 7:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. (Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.) Week #2 : Wednesday to Saturday 7:30 p.m. - 6:00 a.m. (Friday and Saturday 7:30 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., Saturday until midnight)
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, providing clear instructions and reassurance as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of imaging services.
  • Adhere to established protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain equipment functionality by performing routine maintenance and participating in quality assurance activities.
  • Accurately document procedures in electronic medical records and other relevant systems.
