About The Position

This position serves as a classroom and laboratory instructor for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program, responsible for planning and delivering curriculum-based instruction, assessing student learning outcomes, providing clinical oversight and mentorship, and maintaining accurate records in a safe learning environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Health Care or related field.
• Two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field.
• Must have the appropriate credentials in the concentration(s) for which they evaluate student performance and document required lab competencies.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS - OB/GYN, AB, VT), Cardiocvascular Credentialing International (CCI -RVS), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT- S, VS).
• Experience in supervision, instruction, student guidance, and educational theories and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Meets regularly with program officials to maintain current documentation of student’s clinical progress.
• Interact with program students with a positive and professional attitude to resolve issues.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with program policy and all applicable laws.
• Participates in continuing education to improve evaluation skills and maintain professional competency in the practice of diagnostic medical sonography.
• Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction; facilitate students' learning.
• Assess students' learning outcomes at the unit, course, and program levels.
• Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/participant evaluation.
• Participate in activities of the instructional team, including planning, development, scheduling, and budgeting, as a cooperative and professional team player.
• Support students as a mentor and role model in achieving their learning and career goals.
