About The Position

Our Diagnostic Medical Sonographer performs diagnostic ultrasound, physiologic, and duplex studies on patients of all ages according to approved protocols, ultrasound exposure, safety, and established exam indicators including spectral analysis and color Doppler displays. Schedules and obtains history from patients. Evaluates the appropriateness of requested exams and assists with procedures. Maintains knowledge of equipment and instruments/supplies pertinent to high quality exams. Provides effective internal and external patient communication consistent with age and mental capacity. Some travel between sites expected.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Colleague must obtain an Oregon license within 90 days of hire and may not provide any services in Oregon without an active Oregon license.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography with Abdomen (ABD) and OB/GYN registries required, and a minimum of one additional ARDMS specialty required, example: - Adult Echocardiography (AE) - Fetal Echocardiography (FE) - Musculoskeletal Sonographer (MSKS) - Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) - Pediatric Sonography (PS) - Vascular Technology (VT) - Breast (BR)
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network.
