Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• ARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, current before date of hire.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of hospital-based experience.
• Proficiency in breast, general, interventional, OB, and vascular ultrasound.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide variety of thorough, diagnostic ultrasound exams.
• Educates patients prior to and throughout their ultrasound exam, ensuring all patient questions are answered and minimizing patient anxiety.
• Prepares for exams prior to patient's arrival, including reading the provider's order and reviewing pertinent medical history.
• Facilitates the performance of interventional procedures by coordinating care with other departments and using proper sterile technique.
• Makes quick, patient-focused decisions in times of high patient volume and rapid change.
• Keeps patient environment and workspace clean and organized, stocking linen and supplies in a timely manner.
• Completes requisitions and charges for supplies accurately and promptly.
• Maintains knowledge of and complies with all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
• Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
• Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned.
