About The Position

We have multiple openings for PRN Diagnostic Imaging Technologists at Bronson Healthcare in Southwest, MI. These positions may require travel to system locations (Bronson Battle Creek, Bronson Methodist Hospital, Bronson South Haven, Bronson LakeView). The role involves performing radiographic examinations of various anatomical parts and systems of the body to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of physical injuries or medical disorders. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a Certificate of Completion of a Hospital base program or Associate's degree from an accredited school of Radiology Technology.
  • Registered ARRT required or registry eligible; registry eligible technologist must receive registry within 6 months of hire date.
  • Employee must successfully complete BLS training course within 6 months of hire.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude.
  • Must be able to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with record keeping.

  • Previous experience in diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities

  • Perform radiographic examinations of various anatomical parts and systems of the body.
  • Assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of physical injuries or medical disorders.
  • Operate and perform basic computer programs associated with record keeping in the department.
  • Demonstrate excellent human relation skills to deal with patients, providers, and others in sensitive situations.
  • Maintain a customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrate leadership and organization skills, including the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Work on a rotational basis in several areas of the radiology department performing routine and advanced diagnostic procedures.
  • Position patients to obtain specified results for diagnoses.
  • Set up and adjust supportive and immobilization devices as necessary.
  • Apply and adjust radiation protective shielding as needed.
  • Operate various diagnostic radiographic equipment to provide optimal examinations.
  • Consult with radiologists to clarify orders or discuss unusual situations.
  • Perform first aid as required and assist in cases of adverse reactions to contrast media.
  • Maintain cleanliness of procedure rooms and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient and file information.
  • Maintain appropriate supply levels in their area of responsibility.
  • Demonstrate or oversee on-the-job training for student technologists and other non-professional assistants as assigned.
