About The Position

This position is responsible for providing direct patient car duties for designated imaging patients and clerical tasks supporting the department. The incumbent will perform procedures and provide personal care while ensuring the surroundings are clean, orderly and well-stocked.

Requirements

  • Requires imaging student to be actively enrolled in an accredited imaging program.
  • Basic Life Support certification, required.
  • Requires active Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) Radiology Student Permit, if applicable.
  • Requires knowledge of RIS for training and problem resolution.
  • Requires knowledge of PACs for training and problem resolution.
  • Requires knowledge of principles of good personal hygience and aseptic techniques.
  • Requires good communication skills and public relations skills.
  • Requires the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age and developmental level of the patients served.
  • Requires ability to set priorities and manage a high workload within limited time for completion.
  • Requires ability to observe patients and report any changes to the technologist.
  • Requires ability to organize tasks.

  • Procedures and Transportation - Completes procedures ad defined for the department and delegated by the technologist including EKGs and IV starts. Transports as needed.
  • Clerical Duties - Calls scheduled imaging patients and confirms appointments.
  • Environmental Maintenance - Maintains a clean and orderly environment in the department. Responsible for stocking supplies and linens in exam rooms.
  • Documentation - Completes requried steps to ensure proper documentation of patient information, billing and quality assurance.
  • Continuing Education - Attends and completes appropriate educational offerings, both mandatory and elective; demonstrates appropriate skills and knowledge.
  • Radiation Safety - Adheres to all radiology policies and procedures concerning radiation safety, as applicable to the modality.
  • Safety - As appropriate for respective position, the team member is responsible for participating in the development, monitoring and sustaining of a safe, highly reliable and functional environment for all occupants of IU Health.  The team member contributes to safety with the following behaviors - open communication, healthy work environment, consistent work habits, and compliance with identified departmental safety measures.  Provides instruction related to safety factors conducive to care plan and recovery; exercises appropriate safety and aseptic practices; personal health and safety are maintained and not jeopardized.
