About The Position

The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant performs a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions. The Assistant is responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: patient check-in, exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures. The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant is trained to use a wide variety of diagnostic imaging equipment, computers, and software. Works under the supervision of a registered technologist, performing only duties in areas that training has been completed satisfactorily as determined by the technical lead of the area.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Within 90 days of hire, BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
  • Ability to exercise good professional judgment and accept responsibility
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with medical staff, Hospital staff, general public and co-workers
  • Organize work, perform work accurately and efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Exercise discretion with patient information
  • Be technically adjusted to department to which oriented
  • Understand and follow complex oral and written directions
  • Ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently, often while under stress.
  • Color vision
  • Ability to see, hear and speak in English
  • Ability to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Health Sciences.
  • Prior related work experience in a health care setting.
