About The Position

The Diagnostic Imaging Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the diagnostic imaging department by assisting and directing patients, as well as managing digital images and exam information within the Electronic Medical Records System (EMS). This position requires strong clerical, telephonic, and customer service skills, and involves interaction with various departments, office staff, physicians, and patients to ensure efficient operations and high-quality patient care.

Requirements

• Completion of a basic medical terminology course or completion within 6 months of hire.
• Associate's Degree with 1 year of medical and/or clerical experience, or successful completion of a Providence Internship.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and physical anatomy obtained through work experience.

Nice To Haves

• Associate's Degree in the medical field or equivalent education/experience.
• College courses in intermediate medical terminology and physical anatomy or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience in diagnostic imaging.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records System.

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct patients in the diagnostic imaging process.
• Retrieve, organize, and input digital images and exam information into the Electronic Medical Records System (EMS).
• Interact with various departments, office staff, physicians, and patients to facilitate smooth operations.
• Provide clerical support and customer service as needed.
