The Diagnostic Chief tech II works in collaboration with the physician within the scope of practice guidelines agreed upon by the collaborating parties. Provide evaluation and treatment of new patients, follow-up patients and postoperative patients in the clinical setting. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Radiology Director. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Evaluation and treatment of new patients, follow-up patients, and postoperative patients in the clinical setting. Document detailed information in PACS and EPIC. Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of required job information. Must be proficient with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard. Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Perform diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures. Evaluation and treatment of new patients in the outpatient and inpatient setting. Coordinate care in the inpatient setting with the appropriate parties. Referring patients as appropriate. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE High School Diploma/GED required Must have a degree in accredited Rad tech program or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program required Current license as a Radiologic Technologist in State of Louisiana required Current BlS certification required. Minimum 1 year experience in evaluating and treating patients in a Physician office setting preferred but not required. Previous experience working in certain specialty areas may be desirable. Computer literacy Physical Demands/Work Environment Work requires a variety of physical activities, including moving about within and outside of all hospital properties for long periods of time. Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
