Requirements

HS Diploma/GED Plus Graduation from an accredited Medical Sonography Program
Registered Diagnostic Sonographer
Must be registry eligible
Must complete registration within one year of employment
Current CPR required

Nice To Haves

Cardiac ultrasound experience, including treadmill and pharmacologic stress testing
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) within one year of hire

Responsibilities

Sets up for and assists the physician or licensed provider with procedures and examinations.
Sets up for and assists with Transesophageal studies, including patient monitoring and manipulation of ultrasound equipment controls.
Performs all required online and offline measurements, calculations, and velocities of acquired images.
Recognizes distinct types of cardiac diseases and pathology.
Immediately reports critical findings to the reading cardiologist(s).
Initiates IV access as needed and according to UAMS policies and procedures.
Utilizes and administers contrast (perflutren or bubble) according to UAMS policies and procedures and documents correctly, as evidenced by quarterly performance improvement data.
May perform other duties as assigned
