This remote position is within the Abbott Diabetes Care Division, focused on improving the lives of people with diabetes through high-quality products and support for glucose monitoring. The Diabetes Sales Specialist is responsible for achieving sales quotas for ADC Products, collaborating with various channels (Managed Care, Retail, Point of Care), and building strong relationships with healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and CDEs. The role requires staying current on internal and competitive products, market trends, and competitor strategies, while effectively planning and executing sales activities to achieve both short-term and long-term results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years previous experience with commendable sales track record from previous positions preferably in health care industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, high energy, integrity and ambition to succeed.

Nice To Haves

  • 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Diabetes clinical knowledge and experience calling on Endocrinologists.

Responsibilities

  • Meeting or exceeding sales quotas/objectives for ADC Products.
  • Collaborating with various channels, Managed Care, Retail, and Point of Care representatives.
  • Establishing strong relationships with a broad base of internal and external health care constituents (e.g., physicians, nurses, pharmacists, CDEs, etc.).
  • Acting in a friendly, respectful, adaptive manner while focusing on the needs and interests of others.
  • Keeping current on internal and competitive products and positioning by utilizing a variety of resources.
  • Understanding and conveying information professionally and accurately.
  • Effectively planning for and following through with short and long term results based on business trends by developing plans that include goals, action plans, time frames and the appropriate resources.
  • Keeping current in market trends and competitor’s strategy.
  • Conveying information and ideas clearly and concisely, answering questions, responding to others, and listening carefully to understand the needs of providers and patients.
  • Positioning products and services using appropriate resources and confident, convincing logic; tailoring sales approach to meet customer needs.
  • Utilizing and distributing appropriate resources.
  • Handling disagreements and objections by exploring perspectives and tactfully addressing them.
  • Developing and implementing plans (e.g., territory, account and call) that include goals, action items, time frames and resources.
  • Regularly tracking and reporting progress against plan, redirecting efforts as necessary.
  • Completing all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Documenting daily activity in call reporting / tracking system.
  • Maintaining accountability for all samples in accordance with Division guidelines.
  • Working within quality guidelines established for compliance.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and performing other duties as assigned by management.
