Requirements

• 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree, required
• Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition or related science
• Registered by the Commission of Dietetic Registration
• Licensed by the state of North Carolina to practice dietetics
• Two years of experience as RD in diabetes or related field, preferred
• Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES), preferred
• If non CDCES, 15 diabetes credit hrs annually, required
• Registered Dietitian status by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, required
• Licensed Dietitian in the State of NC, required

Nice To Haves

• Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing
• Knowledge, ability, and skills to support diabetes education to accommodate cultural diversity, age-specific or behavioral needs among the patients being served.
