About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a full‑time Diabetes Education Dietitian (Registered Dietitian) for an Outpatient Diabetes Education role with Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown or Bethlehem, PA. This position supports the LVHN Diabetes and Endocrinology Clinic, working primarily with patients managing diabetes while also providing general Medical Nutrition Therapy as needed. The Dietitian will deliver individualized nutrition counseling, support diabetes self‑management education, and collaborate with a skilled team of Diabetes Educators to promote high‑quality patient care. Previous experience in diabetes education or working with individuals with diabetes is preferred. Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian licensed in Pennsylvania
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and interdisciplinary team members
  • Proven ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition
  • Commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
  • 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)

Responsibilities

  • Empower clients to achieve life-changing goals who are currently experiencing diabetes
  • Provide individualized education to clients through evidence-based nutrition care in the specialized area of diabetes
  • Provide insulin pump and glucose monitor training to patients
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to recommend, implement, and monitor nutrition interventions with overall improvement in clinical outcomes
  • Provide professional staff education to ensure the safe management and care of clients and families
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and regulatory compliance within the department
  • Work toward obtaining CDCES
