About The Position

The DHHS Public Health Division is seeking a an experienced grant program manager to partner with the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health DHHS Program Specialist RN and Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative to ensure alignment with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists standards of maternal care through the state of Nebraska.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, education, health sciences, public health, law or related field and experience in program planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluating program functions or supervising/management staff and budgets.
  • Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for year basis.
  • Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience monitoring grant activities, contracts and subawards.
  • Past clinic or hospital management experience, EMT, or program assessment experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and manages statewide implementation of perinatal regionalization efforts, including management of contracts and subawards.
  • Develops standards and protocols for identifying risk-appropriate levels of care for birthing hospitals in Nebraska in partnership with the Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health DHHS Program Specialist RN and Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative.
  • Ensures alignment with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists levels of maternal care.
  • Assesses and verifies levels of maternal care to determine appropriate level of care for birthing hospitals across Nebraska.
  • Coordinates statewide perinatal services and builds system for formal system for provider consultation and referrals to regional specialty services, including coordination with Emergency Medical Services.
  • Plans and coordinates statewide data collection and continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Uses data to inform sustainability planning.
  • Aligns program activities with data and population health priorities.
  • Provides input and recommendations on policy and systems integration to support long-term sustainability for perinatal regionalization.
