About The Position

The DFH-Foreman position at Swinerton Builders involves direct supervision and coordination of construction activities, ensuring successful project completion. Requirements

• 7-10 years of experience in construction, concrete, and/or masonry work and crew/job management.
• Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school with experience as a journeyman carpenter, including some supervisory experience, or equivalent training and experience.
• Working knowledge of all crafts and ability to read and understand specifications for all trades.
• Understanding of project floor plans, fixture drawings, construction drawings, electrical plans, lighting plans, and construction codes and local/state ordinances.
• Familiarity with office equipment including computer, calculator, radio, and fax.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws and safety regulations.
• Familiarity with union contracts and procedures.
• Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting, and cost control.
• Strong problem-solving ability and a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Supervise foremen, journeymen, and various crews on construction sites.
• Provide drawing interpretation and conduct regular inspections of work.
• Plan and schedule work, keeping records of materials used and progress made.
• Order supplies and equipment as needed for projects.
• Report on personnel, costs, and safety measures.
• Direct the use of machines and materials on site.
• Ensure projects are constructed to code and according to plans and specifications.
• Examine and inspect work progress and equipment regularly.
• Coordinate work efficiently in a safe environment.
• Identify, address, and resolve issues as they arise.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with field personnel and sub-trades.
• Analyze and plan installation and construction of equipment and structures.
• Discuss blueprints and plans with contractors.
• Assist with resolution of union grievances.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
