About The Position

The DFC Recovery Collector is responsible for providing a quality customer experience while working to collect and negotiate terms of repayment on charged off and unsecured account balances. This role is crucial in ensuring that the company mitigates losses and maximizes receivable income through effective communication and negotiation strategies. The DFC Recovery Collector will engage in outbound collection attempts via phone, mail, and email, aiming to resolve delinquent accounts in an ethically responsible manner. Additionally, the position involves processing, following up, and resolving inbound collection and customer service inquiries, ensuring that all interactions are handled with professionalism and discretion. In this role, the collector will review accounts for necessary actions such as repossession, settlement opportunities, transfer to third-party collections, closure, and charge-off. Conducting skip tracing may also be required to obtain contact information for delinquent or defaulted customers. The DFC Recovery Collector is expected to demonstrate good judgment in all interactions with co-workers and customers, ensuring timely resolution of discrepancies and disputes. The position requires the ability to work independently based on established departmental procedures while also providing backup support to teammates as needed. Meeting or exceeding established call volume and account action requirements is a key performance indicator for this role.
