Job Description Job Summary: Performs precision mechanical assembly for Dewar production. Performs the required processes of cleaning, and documenting of Dewar parts, subassemblies, and finished goods. Utilizes production tooling, computers, and specialized equipment required for production and material/WIP tracking. Identifies and documents discrepant material. Supports material within manufacturing process (build) and in work cells, labs and departments. Includes scheduling, receiving, inspecting, kitting, moving, processing (issuing), and packaging to meet customer internal and external requirements and commitments. Interacts with Coworkers, Managers, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • Must be able to: Communicate orally, read, and write using the English language
  • Work using hands
  • Have good manual dexterity
  • Have attention to detail
  • Visually inspect small parts
  • Use small hand tools (tweezers, hex keys, and probes/picks)
  • Use a microscope
  • Move and assemble very small parts and fastening devices
  • Sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Lift up to 40 lbs., unassisted
  • Use Outlook, Excel, Word
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, legal permanent resident, asylee, refugee or must be eligible to apply for and obtain the appropriate export control license from the U.S. Departments of State or Commerce.

  • 3-4 years in a Manufacturing and/or Material environment

Responsibilities

  • Precision mechanical assembly and adhesive application following work instructions
  • Perform measurements and tests from test procedures and document results
  • Data entry for travelers and WIP tracking
  • Several cleaning operations
  • Label, stage, count, and issue material in support of schedules
  • Maintain documentation, product traceability, and system integrity
  • 5S protocols: maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment
  • Inventory Management: counting, bagging, tagging, and stocking
  • Assist Engineering in developmental processes, as necessary
  • Miscellaneous support functions, as necessary
