About The Position

This role is an exciting opportunity for a skilled DevSecOps / Python Engineer to contribute to a fast-paced, innovative cybersecurity team supporting critical infrastructure projects. You will work remotely with a focus on automating security processes, developing Python-based tools, and enhancing CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments. The position offers significant responsibility, including designing, implementing, and scaling security solutions, collaborating across teams, and supporting advanced government-level IT security initiatives. Requirements

  • 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 6 years of Python development on Linux/UNIX platforms.
  • 4+ years of AWS experience with automation and API integration.
  • 2+ years of Jenkins (or similar CI/CD) experience and solid understanding of CI/CD processes.
  • Strong knowledge of security engineering, including SIEM integration, firewall rules, and IPS policies.
  • Experience with systems administration on Windows and Linux/UNIX, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing protocols), and source code management tools such as Git/GitHub.
  • U.S. citizenship required for security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience (8+ years IT experience without degree).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with JavaScript and Ruby scripting is preferred.
  • Experience managing Elastic Stack deployments and clusters.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate security processes, tool integration, and server configuration.
  • Enhance and automate CI/CD pipelines and environments, including Jenkins and AWS integrations.
  • Implement security controls and automation within cloud environments, including AWS APIs.
  • Build and manage auto-provisioning and auto-scaling of security infrastructure.
  • Integrate and maintain Elastic Stack/ELK clusters, including Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop security enhancements, monitor system hardening, and implement blue team defenses.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to improve the overall cybersecurity posture of the organization.
