About The Position

Leidos is anticipating a new contract award with the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic to support the Defense Health Enterprise Application and Desktop Virtualization Support Group, specifically the Clinical Information Modernization (CIM) Integrated Product Team (IPT). This work primarily supports the Defense Health Agency (DHA) and its world-wide network of military hospitals and health clinics. The focus is on the Clinical Infrastructure Modernization Program Lifecycle Environment (CIMPLE) project, which will provide enterprise infrastructure and professional IT services for the DHA Private Cloud (DPC), Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), and DevSecOps Community Cloud (DSOCC) hosting platforms. The DevSecOps Lead will be responsible for leading a team in supporting and sustaining cloud computing instantiations, providing subject matter expertise in the DevSecOps lifecycle for these cloud environments. This role requires specific knowledge of core systems like DPC, AVHE, and DSOCC, and is 100% onsite in Charleston, SC.

Requirements

  • Specific knowledge and understanding of DHA Private Cloud (DPC), Application Virtualization Hosting Environment (AVHE), and DevSecOps Community Cloud (DSOCC) hosting platforms.
  • Subject matter expertise in virtual container technologies and experience leveraging virtual containers, including Kubernetes or other open-source container management platforms, Redhat OpenShift, Rancher Federal (RKE2), and NetApp Kubernetes Service.
  • Enterprise experience in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deliver (CI/CD) pipeline tools and technologies to include Kubernetes/OpenShift, Gitlab, Jenkins, and SAST/DAST scanning tools.
  • Experience in cloud computing technologies and ability to provide subject matter expertise for Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud, and Microsoft Azure GovCloud.
  • 10 years’ experience in DoD enterprise environments.
  • Currently holding an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Relevant, recent technical Cloud Architecture Background and Experience with DevSecOps, VDI, and hybrid cloud engineering as it relates to the responsibilities of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the team in support of support and sustainment strategies for cloud computing instantiations.
  • Providing subject matter expertise DevSecOps lifecycle for cloud computing instantiations.
  • Performing testing of new versions of containerization technologies software in the pre-production lab environment(s) including regression testing on standard configurations.
  • Recommending upgrade processes.
  • Executing system wide upgrades to both pre-production lab environment(s) and production environment(s) following program change management processes and procedures.
  • Implementing standard configuration and maintaining patch and platform versions across both pre-production lab environment(s) and production environment(s).
  • Providing technical support for instantiations of these containerization technologies on a 24x7 basis to ensure rapid problem resolution and maximum uptime.
  • Providing subject matter expertise on multiple cloud services including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), DBaaS, Software as a Service (SaaS), and FEDRAMP.
  • Assisting the government in the architectural design and engineering of cloud technologies identifying areas to gain efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Providing associated documentation for architectural designs, deployment and implementation supporting cloud technologies installation and configuration.
  • Supporting IAVA/STIG/other DoD policy implementations and documentation for cloud technologies platforms to include RA and RMF.
  • Supporting the development of accreditation packages using DoD Risk Management Framework for any designed solution and work toward achievement of an ATO.
  • Writing and maintaining Architecture Diagrams, Architecture Network Boundary Diagrams, and Installation Configurations Guides.
  • Supporting direct communication and collaboration with ALL members of the Team, including issue management support, clarification and prioritization of production onsite tasks, reports and site summaries.
  • Communicating with parties external to the organization (e.g., sub-contractors, vendors, government, etc.).
  • Working to influence project/team leaders regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
  • Providing Engineering Tier 3 assistance in the management of Help Desk related issues in production.
  • Working to achieve key project/program objectives and deliverables.
  • Being responsible for entire projects or processes spanning multiple technical areas.
  • Regularly employing ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems to achieve functional objectives.
