About The Position

As a DevOps Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role. Job responsibilities Executes standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems Identify and analyze operational pain points and inefficiencies, proactively designing and implementing automated solutions to streamline processes and enhance developer productivity. Designs, develops, automates, and troubleshoots with consideration for upstream and downstream systems and technical implications Develop and implement effective systems that empower developers to innovate while ensuring adherence to firm policies and regulatory requirements Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues using tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana. Provide hands-on production support, resolve incidents promptly, and perform root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences. Participate in on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 system availability Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve a range of technical problems Gathers, analyzes, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development Oversee the administration and provisioning CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring reliable performance, scalability, and security across the system. Requirements

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Experience in DevOps related roles
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery tools like Jenkins, Bitbucket, or Terraform and Application Resiliency & Security.
  • Experience with system administration and automated provisioning
  • Experience in logging, monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, and Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience in production support and incident management and developer support
  • Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
  • Proficiency in Python and Shell Scripting
  • Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
