Apple Places Engineering is looking for a highly skilled Engineer with a strong foundation in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and solution architecture to lead and support innovative technology initiatives for Apple Places Facilities, Environment, Health u0026 Safety (EHS), and Sustainability programs. This role requires deep technical proficiency in designing and managing scalable, secure, and highly available systems across cloud and on-premises environments, combined with a leadership mindset to drive cross-functional collaboration, operational excellence, and strategic technology adoption. The ideal candidate will be an architect and operator of resilient infrastructure, enabling data-driven decisions and sustainable practices while mentoring teams and influencing organizational best practices to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient enterprise solutions.Should be highly proactive with a keen focus on improving the uptime availability of our mission-critical services
Requirements
- Deep expertise in Linux/Unix system administration, including kernel calls, processes, memory management, and system troubleshooting
- Solid understanding of networking concepts from basic TCP/IP to more advanced layers involving packet flow, congestion protocols, etc.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, including multi-cloud and hybrid environments
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
- Proficiency in container orchestration and management tools like Kubernetes and Docker
- Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
