About The Position

DevOps Engineer, Mid The Opportunity: Everyone is trying to “harness the cloud,” but not everyone knows how. As a DevOps engineer, you’re eager to develop, manage, and secure a container platform that meets your client’s needs and takes advantage of cloud capabilities. We need you to help us develop container management software to solve some of our clients’ toughest challenges. As a platform DevOps engineer at Booz Allen, you can use your technical skills to effect mission-forward change. On our team, you’ll strengthen your skills using the latest cloud technologies as you look for ways to improve your client’s environment with current container software to ensure seamless orchestration. Using your DevOps platform knowledge, you’ll support your team as you inform strategy and design while ensuring standards are met throughout the containerization process. You’ll work with your team to recommend resources that will help your client manage and securely adopt containers. Additionally, you’ll gain DevOps skills and experience while supporting the development of critical cloud platforms. Requirements

  • Experience in advanced Git techniques and workflows, including branching and merging strategies, resolving complex merge conflicts, setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging webhooks to streamline development processes
  • Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, with automation of build, test, and deployment processes
  • Knowledge of Bash scripting, including writing and debugging complex scripts and optimizing performance for efficient execution
  • Ability to produce clear and comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents
  • Ability to develop, troubleshoot, and manage containerized Linux environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science field and 1+ years of experience with DevOps or 5+ years of experience in DevOps in lieu of a degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing enterprise cloud-native solutions, including Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Jenkins, or Azure
  • Experience creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks
  • Experience triaging and resolving issues related to both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments
  • Experience with multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, JavaScript, Groovy, Golang, and Ruby for service development
  • Experience with security audits and implementing security best practices throughout the SDLC using tools such as Trivy, SonarQube, NexusIQ, Qualys, Seeker, Sysdig, and Nessus
  • Experience with leveraging cloud-native AI/ML solutions to enhance operational efficiency and user experience
  • Experience with cloud-native CI/CD pipelines in Azure and AWS, including setup, configuration, and maintenance
  • Knowledge of container technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, Kustomize, ytt, and ArgoCD, for scalable container orchestration, including writing YAML files for deployment to the OpenShift container platform
