GCI's DevOps Engineer III will be responsible for the Development Operations (DevOps) function of the organization, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to develop, deploy, and maintain the organization’s software and systems. Streamline the software development lifecycle through automation, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), and effective infrastructure management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES AT ALL LEVELS: Infrastructure & Cloud Management Design, implement, and support large-scale infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms. Develop reliable, resilient infrastructure using scalable and repeatable processes. Automation & CI/CD Automate and streamline operations and workflows to enable faster, more reliable application releases. Implement system automation and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) methodologies to support consistent deployment practices. Deployment & Monitoring Build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and testing in stable, scalable production environments. Improve deployment frequency, reduce lead time for fixes, and accelerate recovery in the event of release failures. Addendum: Active Directory / Domain Controller (AD/DC) Additional Job Requirements: Responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the organization’s Active Directory (AD) and domain controller infrastructure. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of directory services that underpin enterprise-wide identity and access management. The engineer will be engaged in managing both on-premises and hybrid environments, contributing to group policy administration, authentication systems, AD-integrated applications, and supporting ongoing modernization efforts. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Windows-based domain controllers across multi-site and hybrid environments. Administer Active Directory, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs), Organizational Units (OUs), domain trusts, user and computer accounts, and AD-integrated applications. Monitor and optimize AD performance, replication, availability, and health; implement and test backup and disaster recovery procedures. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to authentication, authorization, AD schema, DNS, and DHCP integration. Lead or support AD migrations, version upgrades, forest/domain consolidation, and other modernization initiatives. Collaborate closely with Information Security to implement domain security policies, enforce compliance standards, and maintain robust access controls. Integrate AD with enterprise platforms such as Azure AD, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and telecom systems. Support identity federation technologies, single sign-on (SSO), and multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions. Maintain detailed documentation, including configuration baselines, operational runbooks, and architectural diagrams. Partner with cross-functional teams to support enterprise infrastructure, cloud adoption strategies, and security initiatives. Additional Job Requirements: This is an advanced level position within the discipline demonstrating comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in all areas of responsibility. Performs complex tasks and job duties, receiving minimal to no instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments.
