The DevOps Engineer position is a contract-to-hire role based in New York, New York, focusing on the configuration, implementation, and management of monitoring and performance management application technologies. The role requires leading a technical team and involves a broad range of information technologies, including multi-tiered client-server environments, web technologies, and infrastructure platforms.   • Lead the team in troubleshooting issues and coordinating issue resolution.
  • Develop implementation models and life cycles for internally developed applications.
  • Gather IT infrastructure requirements and support procedures.
  • Facilitate discussions regarding support environments and provide direction for technical options.
  • Analyze and provide solutions to complex IT problems.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Con Edison IT and business staff.
  • Implement a Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline using Azure DevOps, Docker, Jenkins, and GIT.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in DevOps or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Thorough knowledge of monitoring and performance management application technologies.
  • Experience with multi-tiered client-server computing environments and web technologies.
  • Strong scripting skills in Perl, Shell, and Python.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, and IBM MQ.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) including Agile Development Methodology.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging platforms like Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, and Loki.
  • Experience with architecture planning.
  • Strong web development skills in SocketIO, JavaScript, Flask, and JSON.
