In 2021, Littelfuse had net sales of $2.1 billion. The Device & Yield Engineering team is seeking a motivated and technically curious Summer Intern to support strategic improvements to our Beverly Fab engineering systems. This role will focus on enhancing the efficiency, structure, and usability of our core process engineering platforms—including MES, SPC, and YMS—with the goal of enabling faster engineering disposition, better data analytics, and smoother preparation for future system migrations. This internship is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data problems, modernizing workflows, and building tools that directly empower engineering teams. You will work closely with experienced device, process, and yield engineers to understand pain points and help implement meaningful improvements. About Your Role: Analyze existing engineering systems (MES/SPC/YMS) to identify inefficiencies, gaps, and opportunities for streamlining data flow. Develop improved data structures, automations, and workflows that enhance engineering decision-making and reduce cycle time. Prototype dashboards, reports, and analytical tools using Power BI or similar platforms. Assist in defining platform requirements and data models to support future system migrations. Create engineering utilities, scripts, or tools (Python, SQL, or similar) to simplify data extraction, transformation, and analysis. Collaborate with process/device/yield engineers to understand system usage patterns and implement user-friendly solutions. Document system improvements, workflows, and requirements for long-term adoption. About You: Required Qualifications Working toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field. Basic understanding of data structures, database concepts, and programming fundamentals. Familiar with Microsoft Excel and basic formula functions. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail. Preferred Qualifications Coursework or project experience involving semiconductor manufacturing, process control, or engineering systems. Experience with at least one data analysis or visualization platform (e.g., Power BI, Tableau). Experience working with manufacturing or operational datasets. Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL, C#, Java). Knowledge of SPC concepts, fab workflows, or MES/YMS systems (a plus, not required). Ability to quickly learn new tools, experiment with new ideas, and iterate based on feedback. What We’re Looking For A highly motivated, enthusiastic learner who enjoys exploring new technologies. Someone who likes building clean, efficient systems and improving how engineering teams use data. A creative problem solver who is not afraid to propose new ideas or challenge old assumptions. A team player with strong communication skills and willingness to engage with engineers across disciplines. What You’ll Gain Hands-on experience in a real semiconductor fab environment. Exposure to engineering systems used in high-volume manufacturing (MES, SPC, YMS). Practical experience with data modeling, visualization, and automation tools. Opportunity to directly influence system readiness for future fab-wide system migration. Mentorship from experienced device, yield, and process engineers. A meaningful project to present at the end of the internship. DOE Pay Range $21 - $27 per hour Littelfuse is an equal opportunity employer committed to empowering every associate to make a difference — everywhere, every day. The salary offered will vary depending on your location, job-related skills, knowledge, and experience.
