About The Position

The Device Repair & Retail Associate at Batteries Plus is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while selling batteries, light bulbs, and accessories to both retail and commercial customers. This role involves engaging with customers to understand their needs, performing battery tests and installations, and contributing to the overall success of the store. Associates will also handle merchandising and inventory tasks, ensuring the store is well-maintained and organized.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months prior work experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to understand company's products and processes quickly.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills with a customer focus.
• Organizational and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations and read gauges.
• Demonstrated technical aptitude or experience is desired.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Prior retail experience preferred but not required.
• Technical experience with device repair is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Consultatively sell batteries, light bulbs, and accessory items to retail and commercial customers.
• Engage customers and recommend solutions based on their needs.
• Perform battery tests, installations, and battery pack rebuilds.
• Greet customers promptly and determine their needs.
• Suggest sales add-on items and participate in achieving sales goals.
• Operate computer/cash register to complete sales transactions.
• Answer phones and assist callers, ensuring timely message relay.
• Maintain facility, inventory, and customer service levels to management standards.
• Rotate and stock inventory; perform inventory counts as required.
• Load, unload, and deliver products as needed.
• Organize daily recovery of displays for a full store appearance.
• Prepare the store for daily opening and closing.
