About The Position

Perform in-clinic and remote interrogations, interpretations and programming of pacemakers, ICDs, and other cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). Analyze and interpret device data to assess performance, battery life, and arrhythmia detection. Educate patients and families on device management, precautions, and follow-up care. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations. Additional monitoring duties may include telephone triage, reviewing medical history, recording vital signs, and the ability to communicate critical events or findings to physicians directly. Troubleshoot remote monitor and device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution. Able to identify critical cardiac rhythms and rhythm EKG analysis with proficiency and evaluation for notification criteria and optimal settings for devices. Schedule device interrogation appointments correctly based on global periods to support safe device follow up care. Documents all patient related activities by end of shift. Responds to all telephone messages (patient, provider offices etc.) by end of shift. Notifies patients of test results (per provider instruction) and follow up. Attend scheduled staff meetings, in service education opportunities, and participate in continuing education programs. Ensure patients remain connected to home monitors. Ensure patients data and remote billing cycle is accurate in Murj. Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school for Device Interrogation.
  • BLS or Heart Saver required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of device experience; experience with interrogating and interpreting device diagnostics for major manufacturers (Medtronic, Abbott/St. Jude, Boston Scientific, Biotronik) preferred.
  • EKG knowledge/interpretation; strong cardiac rhythm recognition skills.
  • Excellent customer service / communication skills.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) Certifications (CCDS, CEPS, CDRMS); and/or eligible within two years of employment preferred.
  • Maintains education in related field and keeps up to date on current changes.
