About The Position

Dev. Spec. I - JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervision, provides clinical services (screening, assessment, treatment planning, and/or intervention support) for children. Provides educational information to patients, parents and families regarding their child's developmental needs. Responds differentially to children based upon the child's age, understanding of the child's developmental level/abilities/disabilities, and cultural considerations. Serves as a liaison with community referral sources including physicians - offices and/or other treatment professionals to facilitate clinical and treatment options. Provides marketing and administrative support to program by producing flyers, handouts, and training materials and entering documentation into the computer database. Dev. Spec. Responds differentially to children based upon the child's age, understanding of the child's developmental level/abilities/disabilities, and cultural considerations. Serves as a liaison with community referral sources including physicians' offices and/or other treatment professionals to facilitate clinical and treatment options. Provides marketing support to program by producing flyers, handouts, and training materials. Enters service documentation into computer database.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline
  • 6 months of experience in field related to area of specialty
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers, issued by American Heart Association
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform data entry, electronic charting, production of educational materials, and word processing
  • Valid California Driver's License and Auto Insurance (if applicable)

Nice To Haves

  • Additional education beyond undergraduate degree related to area of specialty
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
