About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Developmental Disabilities Division seeks a well-organized, charismatic individual to join our leadership team as a DD Service District Administrator. The primary role of this position involves overseeing the administration, direction, and organization of Service Coordination teammates within an identified Services District. This position can be located in any of the following locations: Ainsworth, O'Neill, Burwell, Valentine or Broken Bow. In this position, you will serve as a direct supervisor for approximately 7–9 Service Coordination Supervisors across multiple districts within your assigned region of Nebraska. You will also provide indirect oversight of 50-70 Service Coordinators and approximately 1300 individuals receiving services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, business administration, public administration, human development, human services, behavioral health, law, special education, quality/project management or other closely related field
  • Two years of supervisory experience in developmental or intellectual disabilities program and services
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Have immediate access to a reliable vehicle

  • Program knowledge of Targeted Case Management and Service Coordination responsibilities and functions

Responsibilities

  • Assist with hiring, training, and coaching
  • Assist in developing, interpreting, implementing and monitoring policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Act as a liaison with Medicaid providers, families, or stakeholders
  • Manage work schedules, task assignments, performance, and leave requests
  • Direct, monitor and evaluate the work of your team by providing indirect oversight of 50-70 Service Coordinators and approximately 1300 individuals receiving services
  • Assist with hiring, training, and coaching Service Coordination teammates
  • Plan, organize, and direct, establishing program objectives, strategies, policies, procedures, and priorities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in response to changing program needs, enhancing service delivery and program operations
  • Develop and implement quality enhancement policies at the District level, evaluating performance against goals and identifying action plans for improvement
  • Consult with Administrator II for Service Coordination Operations and DDD Deputy Directors regarding service coordination needs and issues
  • Establish collaborative relationships with participants of waiver services and their guardians, providers, advocacy entities, and community organizations to enhance the continuum of care
  • Other duties as assigned
