About The Position

You will be the Development Quality Engineer Staff for our dynamic Air Dominance Weapon System futures team. Our team is responsible for delivering cutting-edge weapon system solutions that enable air superiority now and into the future. As the Quality Engineer Staff you will be responsible for shaping and safeguarding the quality of our products and processes.

Requirements

  • STEM degree at bachelor's level or higher from an accredited college or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Must have ability to obtain interim clearance prior to start
  • Ability to travel 25% - 50% of the time
  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment with strong skills in AS9100 certification and compliance requirements
  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, including vaulted/redline drawings
  • Previous Development Hardware Quality Engineering experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the manufactured and procured product during the transition from development to production phase
  • Thorough understanding of engineering requirements and inspection methods during transition to production activities
  • Experience solving complex problems associated with the quality of products
  • Experience driving strategies resulting in the strengthening the Quality Management Systems at key suppliers

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree at bachelor's level or higher preferred
  • Experience working with multiple levels of Government customers and stakeholders
  • Experience with MRA/Readiness Reviews
  • Thorough understanding in AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and all other stakeholders
  • Demonstrated presentation skills
  • A strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Lean Six Sigma Certification (Green Belt / Black Belt)
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CSQ) and / or Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)

Responsibilities

  • Developing and reviewing quality standards, processes, methods, work instructions, and procedures for manufactured and procured products
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure quality standards are implemented and met
  • Evaluating designs to ensure producibility and smooth production flow
  • Identifying, trending, and resolving non-conformances in a timely manner
  • Utilizing lean initiatives to reduce waste and drive affordability and efficiency
