About The Position

The goal for this role is to increase financial resources for the ministry through strategically identifying new individuals, foundations, organizations, and business owners, building relationships with them, inviting them into financial partnership/ increased giving and stewarding their gifts. This position will focus on securing five and six figure multi-year gifts to support the expansion of the ministry. This role is also responsible for expanding the donor base in Cook County by identifying and engaging new major gift prospects, churches, community leaders, and businesses in the area. This role reports to the V.P. of Development and serves as part of the Development Team.

Requirements

  • A committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and is a participant in a local church.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and enthusiasm for the mission and strategy of Caring Network.
  • Agree with and be willing to uphold Caring Network’s Statements of Faith and Principle and Core Values.
  • 4+ years of successful face-to-face major gift solicitations.
  • Proven record of relationship building, customer service skills, and successful gift solicitations demonstrating a history of portfolio growth to meet and exceed fundraising goals.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities, with attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Comfortable with participating in prayer with co-workers and ministry partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Available to work weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Must be able to work from the Glen Ellyn administrative office and travel as needed to visit with prospective and current donors in DuPage and Cook counties, as well as for monthly staff meetings and fundraising events.
  • Need reliable transportation to meet as needed with prospects and donors in greater Chicagoland.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a portfolio of mid and major donors.
  • Engage in face-to-face solicitations to secure major gifts, including from 4 to 5-figure gifts and from 5 to 6-figure gifts.
  • Identify prospects and grow the donor base in Kane/DuPage counties.
  • Engage current donors to increase their level of giving by developing short and long-range plans, which include: personalized communications insider events face-to-face meetings stewardship impact reporting
  • Integrate planned giving to secure long-term sustainable giving.
  • Recommend and implement a simple Legacy Society program.
  • Document, in CRM database, all contacts with donors.
  • Attend and support donor events.
  • Collaborate with Special Events Manager to organize events in the city of Chicago. This may include recruiting volunteers.
  • Participate in bi-monthly Development Team Meetings and Monthly Staff Meetings.
  • Represent ministry at local churches and organizations on a limited basis.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
