About The Position
CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client has a W2 contract assignment for a Development Mechanical Engineer I. This role involves joining a leading engineering team to support the design and development of custom process equipment used in advanced manufacturing environments. It is a hands-on position suitable for early-career mechanical engineers with strong CAD and drafting skills, offering real-world exposure to production systems.
Requirements
- 0–3 years in mechanical design or drafting
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
- Working knowledge of ASME/ANSI drafting standards
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing/production environment
Responsibilities
- Create and update 2D drawings and 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
- Translate engineering concepts into detailed mechanical drawing packages
- Collect measurements and system data directly from the production floor
- Design and integrate mechanical, pneumatic, and component layouts
- Support Engineering Change Request (ECR) processes
- Ensure designs meet ASME/ANSI standards and safety requirements
