About The Position

The Development Manager ensures consistent, high-quality execution across grant management, event delivery, and CRM operations, while supporting individual and legacy giving initiatives. The position collaborates closely with internal teams and operates within established departmental and organizational priorities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising, with demonstrated success in grant writing, event execution, and development operations.
  • Proven experience managing grant proposals and reporting, including government and foundation funding.
  • Experience working in environments requiring cross-functional coordination and adherence to established processes.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, including data management, segmentation, reporting, and pipeline tracking.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive work forward across teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for funders, donors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a collaborative spirit.
  • Ability to successfully execute fundraising events that meet or exceed revenue and return on investment goals.
  • Ability to take initiative, follow through on responsibilities, and manage work with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills, particularly in managing timelines, data, and follow-through.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Responsibilities

  • Grants and Revenue Execution Conduct grant prospect research and manage the full lifecycle of grant writing, submission, and reporting.
  • Maintain grant calendar and pipeline tracking.
  • Ensure compliance and alignment with program and finance teams.
  • Events and Campaigns Execute fundraising events and activities and oversee post-event stewardship.
  • Take a lead role with annual and seasonal fundraising campaigns and initiatives.
  • Coordinate organizational events and related engagement activities.
  • Donor and Sponsor Engagement Support sponsor outreach, coordination, and stewardship.
  • Assist with major donor engagement through research, preparation, and follow-up.
  • Development Operations Maintain CRM data integrity, reporting, and pipeline tracking.
  • Support donor segmentation and development systems.
  • Manage development calendar and tracking tools.
  • Project and Team Coordination Lead cross-functional coordination and timelines.
  • Hold stakeholders accountable for deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Development Coordinator in development and maintaining a volunteer corps.
