About The Position

The Development Manager (Mid-Level and Monthly Giving) at The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri is responsible for developing and managing programs aimed at increasing mid-level and monthly donations. This role focuses on building relationships with donors, enhancing donor retention, and securing financial support to aid the organization's mission of combating hunger in the community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and education.
  • Three to five years of fundraising and development experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer literacy and ability to quickly learn software and database programs.
  • Experience in public speaking.
  • Valid Class E driver's license, access to a vehicle, and state-required insurance.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute an individual monthly and mid-level giving program with an emphasis on increasing and retaining recurring donors.
  • Actively manage a portfolio of current and potential donors, including monthly donors and passive major gift donors.
  • Manage relationships and solicit gifts from mid-level donors to increase financial support.
  • Document interactions in the donor database and work with the Donor Relations Manager to create monthly dashboard reports.
  • Identify, cultivate, and solicit individuals for general operating support based on The Food Bank's case for support.
  • Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to achieve annual goals.
  • Prepare proposals, solicitation letters, and stewardship reports in conjunction with the Development team.
  • Collaborate with the Communication and Development team to thank and steward individual donors.
  • Assist in developing budget, goals, and performance measures for the monthly and mid-level gifts program and analyze results.
  • Represent the department and The Food Bank to donors and the public through visits, written and phone communications.
