About The Position

The WVU Foundation Development Team at the WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s is eager to retain one (1) WVU intern. The position would entail approximately 10 -20 hours per week in person at the Development Office. This internship is for an individual with outstanding organizational and soft skills, who can work some weekend/evening hours for certain events and for an individual who can work during the summer term. The WVU Foundation intern/student worker at WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s will focus on fundraising efforts, with an emphasis on special events for campaigns, community relations, and donor stewardship. Reporting to the Director of Community and Donor Relations, the intern will assist with events on and off campus (with travel required at times out of town), outreach and communication efforts related to those events and activities, as well as administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Professionalism appropriate for interactions with outside professionals, leadership-level major gift donors, and other community and institutional leaders
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• High level of organizational skill
• Operate with close attention to detail
• Welcome the challenge of multiple, overlapping deadlines
• Education and/or experience in special events, public relations, communications, fundraising, media and/or marketing
• Meet the physical demands related to event setup, management, and tear down
• Can lift 15 pounds
• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software
• Willingness to quickly learn other internal proprietary platforms, including Blackbaud’s CRM donor/fund management platform
• Candidates must currently be enrolled at an accredited educational institution
