About The Position

Basic Function This position supports the Semiconductor CBI (Customer Back Innovation / New Product Development) process by developing fixturing, tooling, and processes to support new product releases. Works closely with Semi CBI Electrical, Firmware, and Mechanical engineers, as well as SAG (Software Automation Group), Manufacturing engineers, and production to bring the next generation of Brooks products to production. This position also gets involved in a wide variety of activities, from design of experiments and technical report writing, to statistical analysis of data, calibration method development, and much more. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and a minimum of 1 year of experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop/design/build and implement pneumatic test systems to support production processing of new products. Work with automation groups to develop functional requirements for new manufacturing tests systems. Analyze and interpret system requirements to guide the development of new products Design molded, welded, etched, stamped, machined, and extruded components to support development of test stands and processes Create 3D models and production drawings for components and assemblies in SolidWorks. Design and fabricate fixturing/tooling for proper assembly and testing of precision components. Direct and or perform design verification and validation testing of new designs. Collaborate Cross functionally with Electrical, Firmware, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability Work with Marketing to determine/gather product performance requirements. Design or assist in the design of flow measurement and flow control devices while maintaining project schedules. Develop theoretical models (fluid, thermal, structural) to assist the design and development of novel flow control devices. Design and validate new production processes for global manufacturing sites and service centers. Design assignments may be occasionally broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity. Support company continuous improvement initiatives, particularly as related to product quality. Maintain and enhance department safety policies and procedures. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical Bachelors Degree Required.
  • 5 years experience in high precision mechanical design or flow/pressure component/instrumentation required.
  • Machine shop experience desired.
  • Ability to design and assemble mechanical parts and fittings
  • Experience in manufacturing and assembly required.
  • Ability to make technical contributions to a multi-disciplinary team required.
  • Experience in test and analysis required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required.
  • Basic programming knowledge, ability to read and interpret software code, as well as write and communicate pseudo-code desired
  • Technical report writing skills required.
  • Ability to lead and manage small scale projects required.
  • Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings and specifications required.
  • 3D CAD Modeling, Production level Drawing generation and CAD database experience desired using SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
  • Mathcad, LabView, Python experience a plus.
  • Related Experience or Training Process control instrumentation
  • Metrology
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Calibration of process instrumentation
