About The Position

About our group:We are hiring an entry level engineer to join the reader process development team!   You will contribute to new process development and materials evaluation that support the next generation of thin film magnetic recording head technology. Your work focuses on designing and developing advanced read transducers within the thin film recording head, using techniques and methodologies similar to those used in nanoscale semiconductor manufacturing.About the role - you will: Provide support for the reader development team on critical processes during evening/night. Maintain baseline processes for our latest designs. Perform investigation of root cause process failure. Develop new best in class processes for future transducer designs. Design and coordinate critical experiments and provide in depth data analysis. You work a required second shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. CST, as part of the regular expectations of the role. About you: You work well in both small and large teams, and you take initiative on independent tasks to deliver meaningful results. You bring a broad engineering background and you have a solid understanding of vacuum deposition and etch processing. You learn quickly and adjust to shifting priorities with confidence. You communicate results and issues clearly within the team and you collaborate effectively with support, process and design groups. Your experience includes: Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Materials Science, and Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and 2+ years of experience, or Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, and Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering and 0+ years of experience or equivalent education and experience.
