At Daimler Truck, our Driver Experience team focuses on the digital on-truck solutions and works hand in hand with design, engineering, and product strategy teams globally. We are seeking a development engineer to shape the future driver experience domain for Daimler Truck and its brands. You will lead the feature development of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster). In collaboration with our global team, you will drive robust, scalable, and future-proof solutions for all Daimler Truck brands. You will be involved from the early concept phase to the main phase of ideation, prototyping, development, validation and release.

  • Global lead for the feature development and documentation of technical concepts while focusing on regulatory requirements, diagnostics requirements, functional safety requirements, and technical limitations.
  • Support the global development of one of our new Daimler Truck HMI ECUs (Instrument Cluster).
  • Support alignment with global, internal and external partners and stakeholders (e.g. feature owners, implementation teams, supplier, projects).
  • Review and control issue inflow submitted by all global test instances (e.g. vehicle testing).
  • Support with pre-analysis of defects.
  • Ensure and track issue analysis and issue fixes.
  • Create and document component parameters.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Prefer 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicles and their functionalities.
  • Strong background in ECU development including processes, methodologies, and tools.
  • Experience with tools such as Vector tools, Monaco, DiagnosticLink, Jira, Confluence.
  • Expertise in project management.
  • Experience with automotive development processes preferable with Daimler Truck.
  • Experience in Engineering of commercial vehicles preferable Daimler Truck products.
  • Analytical, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and downstream impacts.
  • Strong skills in communication and team coordination across global teams.
  • Expertise in software architecture.
  • Background in HMI software development/implementation.
  • Experience building prototype systems.
  • Experience with Agile development methods.
  • Understanding of UI/UX frameworks.
