About The Position

The Development Effectiveness and Impact Evaluation Consultant will work with the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) in Washington, DC, focusing on enhancing the effectiveness of development projects across various sectors such as social protection, health, education, and climate management. The role involves designing and implementing impact evaluations, preparing reports, and supporting project execution to ensure the IDB's operations achieve their intended outcomes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in economics, Natural Resource and Agricultural Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, International Development, Demography or related field.
• Doctoral degree is highly preferable.
• At least five years of relevant professional and academic experience in program evaluation, applied economics, and development economics.
• Proficiency in at least two of the Bank's official languages (one being English or Spanish).

Nice To Haves

• Experience in econometric and statistical analysis related to impact evaluation.
• Familiarity with project management and evaluation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the design and implementation of impact evaluations of IDB's operations.
• Participate in the preparation of the Development Effectiveness Overview (DEO) and project completion reports.
• Support quality at entry review of projects to be presented to the IDB Board.
• Support results measurement and development effectiveness during project execution.
• Contribute to a range of technical and sector topics related to development effectiveness.
